Valerie Ann Leeds

Valerie Ann Leeds is an independent scholar and curator specializing in the work of Robert Henri and his circle. She has organized over 40 museum exhibitions around the country and been a contributor to many publications, including George Sotter: Light and Shadow (2017), Charles Harold Davis (1856–1933): Mystic Impressionist (2015), Along His Own Lines: A Retrospective of New York Realist Eugene Speicher (2014), Georgia O’Keeffe and the Faraway (2010), and Andrew Wyeth: American Master (2005). She has also contributed to numerous publications and exhibitions on the work of Robert Henri including, most recently, Spanish Sojourns: Robert Henri and the Spirit of Spain (2013) and From New York to Corrymore: Robert Henri and Ireland (2011). She has held curatorial positions at the Flint Institute of Arts, the Orlando Museum of Art, the Tampa Museum of Art, and the Whitney Museum of American Art and has lectured widely on topics in American art.
