The Legacy Circle
By making long-range, planned gifts, individuals who join The Legacy Circle support the Gallery by ensuring the vitality and permanence of both its collection and its exhibition programs. Participation in The Legacy Circle provides countless generations the opportunity to view and appreciate great art. Legacy Circle members not only play a role in the Gallery’s future but also remain a part of its history.
Individuals who make up The Legacy Circle receive invitations to exclusive Gallery events and programs and are recognized for their generosity in Gallery publications, if members so choose.
Individuals may join The Legacy Circle by informing the National Gallery of Art that arrangements have been made for one of the following gifts*:
- A bequest to the Gallery in a will or through a revocable trust
- Participation in a life income arrangement for the benefit of the National Gallery of Art (for example, the Gallery’s charitable gift annuity program or a charitable remainder trust)
- The creation of a charitable lead trust for the benefit of the Gallery
- The naming of the Gallery as a beneficiary of a retirement plan or a life insurance policy
- A gift of real estate
*Gifts in any of these forms may be made in memory or honor of family and friends.
