Guests of all ages can take a piece of Vermeer and the Masters of Genre Painting home with hundreds of hand-selected items to choose from.

Merchandise Highlights:

A wide array of pottery from Delft, tapestry-inspired scarves and faux-fur pieces, Zamani rugs in multiple designs, dozens of styles of pearl jewelry, leather journals with marbled edges, and much more.

Dining

The National Gallery of Art Garden Café gives guests the opportunity to taste the flavors of Vermeer and the Masters of Genre Painting. Vermeer-inspired dishes are available during the Garden Café's weekday hours as well as during its recently launched weekend brunch buffet.

The National Gallery of Art Garden Café is located on the Ground Floor of the West Building, near the 6th Street and Constitution Avenue NW entrance.

Garden Café Hours:
Monday–Saturday, 11:30–3:00
Sunday, 12:00–4:00

Vermeer-Inspired Dishes (available during weekday and weekend service):

Vermeer Cheese Sampler:
Danish blue cheese, aged gouda, goat cheese with cumin and clove, flatbread crackers and toasted baguette

Dutch Appetizer Platter:
smoked whitefish, pickled herring, egg salad, cornichon, pickled red onion, flatbread crackers and toasted baguette

Dutch Hussar Potato Salad:
potato, Bibb lettuce, apple, cornichon, onion, red beet, hard-boiled egg, parsley

Weekday Desserts:
Dutch apple pie, Dutch cocoa pudding with whipped cream and shaved chocolate, semolina pudding with cherry gastrique

Weekend Brunch Desserts:
macaroon and vanilla pudding, St. Nicholas slices, wheat bread and hagelslag, coconut macaroon, bitter cookie

Food Service Provider:
Starr Catering Group is the food services provider in four visitor dining areas of the East and West Buildings—the group's first venture in Washington, DC. Starr Catering Group assumed charge of the food and beverage operations beginning on October 1, 2016, coinciding with the reopening of the East Building. About the Garden Café Weekend Brunch:
Launched in September 2017, the Gallery's Garden Café is the only place on the National Mall where you can enjoy a seasonal brunch buffet with your museum visit. Indulge in classic brunch dishes, signature entrées, and lighter fare.
