Washington, DC—The National Gallery of Art, Washington, announced today that the Sculpture Garden and Pavilion Café will reopen to the public on Sunday, February 14. The Sculpture Garden will be open daily from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Admission will be free and all entrances and paths will be open, but capacity will be limited and visitors will be welcomed on a first-come, first-served basis. The 6.1-acre garden is located along the north side of the National Mall between 7th and 9th Streets NW.

"We are delighted to reopen the Sculpture Garden as a valentine to our visitors. The garden has a special beauty in winter, and we hope people will enjoy warming up with a cup of hot chocolate or coffee from the café and taking a stroll through our beautiful modern and contemporary sculptures, from Roy Lichtenstein's House I to Robert Indiana's AMOR—perfect for the holiday!" said Kaywin Feldman, director of the National Gallery of Art.

The 2020–2021 season of the Sculpture Garden ice rink remains canceled. The East and West Buildings remain closed to the public at this time and will tentatively reopen later this spring.

Sculpture Garden Safety Measures and Visitor Guidelines
Visitors ages 2 and up will be required to wear face coverings. Capacity will be limited, and visitors will be strongly encouraged to practice safe social distancing by staying at least six feet from anyone not in their household group.

Indoor seating at the Pavilion Café will be reduced to 25 percent of capacity. Café seating will be disinfected after every visitor, and restrooms will undergo enhanced cleanings. Visitors will be required to wear face coverings when not actively eating or drinking, and hand sanitizer will be available near the café.

Pavilion Café Offerings
The Pavilion Café, located at the west side of the Sculpture Garden, will be open 11:00 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. daily. It will offer credit card–only purchases for carryout just outside its doors as well as online ordering for pickup at the same location. Visitors will be able to choose from homemade salads, sandwiches, and beverages—including seasonal favorites such as a full suite of coffee beverages, mulled wine, and hot chocolate.
