Collection Access

The Robert Frank Collection at the National Gallery of Art is available to the public for research. To make an appointment in the study room, please call (202) 842-6144 or e-mail [email protected]. We would like to have at least two weeks' notice for appointments and to be provided with a list of the materials you would like to see.

Rights

Robert Frank owns the copyright to all of his photographic work and correspondence. Reproductions of photographs are not available unless specifically requested and approved by the artist's agent, Pace/MacGill Gallery. If permission is granted for reproduction, please contact the National Gallery for an image and credit line. If any correspondence or other ephemera from the collection is referenced, the author should cite, "The Robert Frank Collection, National Gallery of Art, Washington."
