Overview: 22 albumen prints, 3 photographic albums, a glass plate negative, and a related print were shown in this exhibition of views of Spain created by Spanish photographer Juan Laurent and his company. Most of the photographs of historic monuments and Spanish cities were created between 1862 and 1879. A photograph reproducing a painting in the Prado Museum by J. Lacoste, who took over the firm in 1900, also was included.
Organization: The exhibition was organized by the National Gallery of Art. Thomas O'Callaghan, image specialist for Spanish art, and Gregory Most, chief of library image collections, were curators.
