March 17 – April 15, 1942
Ground Floor, Central Gallery
This exhibition is no longer on view at the National Gallery.
Overview: Watercolors and drawings were on view by 8 artists appointed by the Office for Emergency Management. These artists were employed for one month to record what was being done for the war effort in factories, machine shops, and shipyards. They were permitted to visit restricted areas on recommendation of the Section of Fine Arts with the cooperation of the War and Navy Departments. 5 of the artists had been included in the previous exhibition American Artists' Record of War and Defense.
