Biography

Paule Aguillon married Joseph Marcotte d'Argenteuil, son of Charles Marcotte d' Argenteuil, patron of Ingres, in 1863. They had three daughters and one son. The Marcottes were inheritors of one third of the Marcotte family art collection, including a number of portrait drawings by Ingres.
