Biography

Caroline was the daughter of John James Dixwell [1806-1876] and a descendent of Epes Sargent, sitter for a portrait by John Singleton Copley in the NGA (1959.4.10). Caroline Married George Henry Clements and had a daughter, Anna, later Mrs. Oswald Whitman Knauth, [1890-1965].
