Biography

Towner described Luigi Grassi as the "[m]ost venerable, and temperamental, of all the profesori,...the grand old man of antiquary Florence." A sale of his collection of Renaissance jewels and fifteenth- to seventeenth-century objets d'art and curios took place in 1927 at the American Art Association in New York.
