Blanche Hull inherited a c. 1818 group portrait of five of the thirteen children of Samuel Woolston Budd [1781-1854] and his second wife, Ann Trippe Budd [1790-1843]. The picture (now in the NGA) came into the Hull family through a child of Mary Budd, who brought the work from Lancaster to Chambersburg, Pennsylvania around 1880. (Mary was the daughter of Charles Budd [1822-1880], Samuel Woolston Budd's tenth child). Mary Budd's daughter married a Hull and died in 1914. The portrait then passed through the Hull family to Blanche Hull, the last of its second generation. Blanche sold it by 1954 to William Bowers of Chambersburg.
