Amelia Martha Daggett was the daughter of New Haven merchant Henry Daggett and his wife Elizabeth. Miss Daggett may have been the sitter for a c. 1795 portrait (now NGA 1956.13.9) by an unknown American naive painter. One of the Daggett family members was said to have been President of Yale University. The Henry Daggetts may have had a house where Yale University Art Gallery now stands.
