Prince Karl Eusebius ascended the throne at the 1627 death of his father, Karl I of Liechtenstein. Karl Eusebius is credited with the establishment of the art collection in the princely gallery. At his death he was succeeded by his son, Prince Johan Adam Andreas (1684-1712).
