Founded in London in 1907 by Lionel Harris [d. 1943], the Spanish Art Gallery, as the name implies, concentrated on importing art from Spain into England. Earlier Lionel had had a business in Madrid. After Lionel's death his son Tomás [d. 1964], an artist, continued to run the gallery until after the second world war. Some photographs from the Spanish Art Gallery are held by the Witt Library at the Courtauld Gallery in London.
