Biography

Berlin art dealer famously tried and convicted of putting over 30 fake van Goghs into the art market in the late 1920s. The fakes were uncovered at a 1928 van Gogh exhibition organized by the Cassirer gallery. Wacker was tried in 1932 and sentenced to one year in prison.
