Silo, James P.

American, 1888 - 1932

Biography

Auctioneer whose firm, Silo's, was established by his father (also named James P. Silo). The auction house operated in the 1920s on Vanderbilt Avenue and 45th Street in New York. The younger James P. Silo died at age 44 aboard the steam ship Fort Saint George, leaving a wife, née Estelle Hall, and three daughters. [Compiled from sources and references recorded on CMS]
