Herman Eduard d' Audretsch [1872-1966] led the Kunstzaal d'Audretsch in The Hague from its opening in 1913 until its closure in1947. The gallery exhibited modern and avant-garde artists, primarily Dutch but also German expressionists such as those associated with Der Sturm gallery in Berlin run by Herwarth Walden. Of significance was the exhibition of expressionists and cubists, organized by Walden, that traveled to d'Audretsch in 1916.
