Biography

L. Leroy was the son of L. Leroy Highbaugh, Sr. In the late 1950s/early 1960, father and son discovered in a house in Louisville a portrait by Charles Willson Peale, which was lent and subsequently donated the law school of Stetson University in Florida. This painting, of John Beale Bordley, is now in the collection of the NGA (1984.2.1).
