Join us for two days of films by internationally recognized nonfiction filmmaker and professor of art at the University of Virginia, Kevin Jerome Everson. Everson returns to present and discuss his most recently completed short films and plans for continuing his media and visual arts practices.
Day one features “Black Fire”, a collection of short films made with Everson’s long-term collaborator and colleague, Dr. Claudrena N. Harold, Edward Stettinius Professor of History at the University of Virginia, followed by a discussion with the filmmakers, moderated by Maya Cade, Library of Congress Fellow and founder of The Black Film Archive. With thanks to Madeleine Molyneaux, producer, Picture Palace Pictures.
