One of the defining artists of the 20th century, Elizabeth Catlett addressed the injustices she witnessed and experienced in the United States and Mexico through her bold prints and dynamic sculptures.

Celebrate the legacy of this DC native in the exhibition Elizabeth Catlett: A Black Revolutionary Artist. Learn about Catlett as an artist, hear a performance by the Howard Gospel Choir, and stop by drop-in artmaking to create your own works inspired by her printmaking techniques!

On the first Saturday of each month the National Gallery springs to life with a variety of engaging activities for all ages. All activities are free, and most are first come, first served. Learn about upcoming First Saturdays.
