About the Muneer Nasser Quintet

Enjoy a Juneteenth celebration concert with the Muneer Nasser Quintet, whose distinct brand of jazz is a synthesis of Memphis blues with a dash of New York fire and DC flavor. The Quintet’s line-up includes trumpeter Muneer Nasser, pianist Allyn Johnson, saxophonist Elijah Easton, bassist James King, Jr., and drummer John Lamkin III. This all-star cast of musicians recently released the jazz album A Soldier's Story, dedicated to Muneer’s father, bassist and jazz great Jamil Nasser.
