About the New Jazz Underground

Welcome the weekend with the New Jazz Underground.  This young American trio takes traditional jazz and infuses it with Afro-Cuban, swing, hip-hop, and house/Afro-beat flavors.  Since their days at Julliard, Abdias Armenteros (saxophone), Sebastian Rios (bass), and TJ Reddick (drums) have continued to win accolades, receiving the 2023 DCJazzPrix™ and 2024 ASCAP Herb Alpert Young Jazz Composer Award. Their videos have attracted millions of viewers and re-energized the jazz scene.
