About the Lao Tizer Band
Kick off our season with the Lao Tizer Band, an Oasis Jazz Award nominee for Jazz Group of the Year. In its return to Jazz in the Garden, the band showcases its new album AMPLIFY. Keyboardist, bandleader, and former Oasis Best New Jazz Artist nominee Lao Tizer brings a cast of musical celebrities for this concert: American Idol star Elliott Yamin on vocals; drum legend Joel Rosenblatt; saxophonist Phillip Whack, who has shared the stage with The Temptations and Aretha Franklin; and Cheikh N'Doye, a Senegalese bassist, composer, and producer.
