Bach Birthday Bash

Celebrate Bach’s 339th birthday with an afternoon of his music, performed by cellist Sophie Shao, harpsichordist Stephen Ackert, and guitarist Mak Grgic. The day’s performances, in our West Garden Court, will feature Bach’s Cello Suite No. 2 (D minor) and No. 6 (D major), some of Bach’s most well-known preludes and fugues from the Well-Tempered Klavier, and a few of his favorite melodies. Both programs will be preceded by musical talks in nearby Gallery 29, where you can see and hear firsthand the connections between Bach’s music and art.
