At the press preview for Cézanne Portraits on Tuesday, March 20, 2018, remarks were given by His Excellency Gérard Araud, Ambassador of France; Mary Morton, curator and head of the department of French paintings at the National Gallery of Art; and John Elderfield, chief curator emeritus of painting and sculpture at the Museum of Modern Art, New York. They were introduced by Earl A. Powell III, director of the National Gallery of Art.
