Opened in the spring of 2014 with a screening of two important feature films: Dušan Makavejev’s Innocence Unprotected (1968) and Reminiscences of a Journey to Lithuania by Jonas Mekas (1972). A panel discussion convened after the screenings, in conjunction with the symposium The Filmmaker’s Voice: The Essay Film and the Circulation of Ideas, organized by the Graduate Field Committee in Film Studies, University of Maryland, College Park (UMCP).
