This map by the Sienese printer and publisher Matteo Florimi follows an earlier perspectival plan by the Roman printmaker and publisher Altiero Gatti (act. 1588‒1596). It is nearly contemporary with the establishment of the Accademia di San Luca, which called its first official meeting in 1593.
