Archivio di Stato di Roma (ASR)
The Accademia di San Luca, represented by its procurator Pompeo Lazzari, petitions the civil court of the senator of Rome against vineyard proprietor Francesco Renzi and barber Agostino de Buongiovanni for payment of rent on a vineyard. Giovanni Mattia Renzi, procurator for the defendants, maintains that Renzi does not rent any vineyards, as the deceased de Buongiovanni maintained, and thus invites the Accademia to present the atto di enfiteusi [act of emphyteusis; or act of perpetual or long-term tenancy].
