Gregory Jecmen was the associate curator of Old Master Prints and Drawings and print room supervisor at the National Gallery of Art until 2018. Jecmen graduated with a BA in art history from Manhattanville College and an MA in art history from the University of Chicago, with PhD work done at the University of Maryland. After internships at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, the Cleveland Museum of Art, and the National Gallery of Art, Jecmen was hired as a curatorial assistant for the print and drawing department at the National Gallery. In 1988 he became associate curator of old master prints and drawings. Jecmen co-curated the National Gallery exhibitions Old Master Prints and their Sources (1995) and M.C. Escher: A Centennial Tribute (1997). He also curated the National Gallery exhibition The Prints of Félix Buhot: Impressions of City and Sea (2005). Jecmen is a member of the Print Council of America, is on the editorial board of the Washington Print Club Quarterly, and frequently gives talks on the history and techniques of printmaking in the Gallery's Print Study Room.
