Homeschool Programs and Resources
Self-Guided Groups
Homeschool groups are welcome to tour the museum independently. For homeschool groups of 15 participants or more, please complete the self-guided group form least four weeks prior to your visit. This helps museum staff prevent overcrowding in the galleries. Be sure to indicate if you would like to receive information about Gallery teaching resources. All registered, self-guided groups will receive a free poster.
Docent-Led School Tours
If you are interested in a docent-led school tour, please note the following requirements:
• Each group must consist of a minimum of 15 students within the identified grade levels for your chosen tour. Please list the ages of participants on your tour request form to help us customize your experience.
• On the day of your visit, please allow extra time for parking and traffic. The National Mall area can be very busy and congested. View area map, public transportation, and parking information.
• Please arrive on time to avoid an abbreviated experience for your children. A coordinating docent will contact you by phone or e-mail one to two weeks before the tour. Please be prepared to discuss how the tour will complement or enhance the students’ curriculum and learning.
• Please help us maintain the quality of everyone’s experience by taking toddlers and babies to an adjacent area should they become disruptive.

NGA Learning Resources
As part of the Gallery's free-loan program, individuals, educational institutions, community groups, and nonprofit television stations throughout the United States can borrow teaching packets and DVDs (see Borrowing Options for details). You can also access dozens of lessons, activities, and interactives on our website using the online resources catalog.
NGAKids
NGAkids interactives offer an entertaining and informative introduction to art and art history. Featuring a variety of art-making tools that encourage exploration and creativity, these online programs are suitable for all ages. NGAkids Art Zone for iPad, with nine additional activities, is available for download from iTunes.
