Please note: Unfortunately, Juan Mora Catlett is unable to join us in person for this weekend’s events. His prerecorded comments about his mother’s legacy and his portraits about her will be shared.
Join us for a virtual presentation by Mexican filmmaker Juan Mora Catlett about two of his documentary portraits of his mother, artist Elizabeth Catlett: Betty y Pancho (1998) which centers the half-century marriage and collaboration of his parents: artists Elizabeth Catlett and Francisco Mora; and an earlier documentary EC: The Work of Elizabeth Catlett (1977) focusing on Catlett’s work in her studio.
Part of Legends: the Films of Juan Mora Catlett film series and presented in conjunction with the exhibition Elizabeth Catlett: A Black Revolutionary Artist.
