About Leigh Pilzer’s Seven Pointed Star

Savor a late summer’s evening with the musical artistry of one of DC’s leading saxophonists—Leigh Pilzer and her band. Leigh Pilzer’s Seven Pointed Star brings you an evening of music ranging from straight-ahead swing to more modern rhythms, performed with electrifying energy, joy, and stellar musicianship. The seven-piece ensemble features such DC jazz luminaries as Kenny Rittenhouse on trumpet and Amy Shook on bass, along with special guest Sherrie Maricle on drums. You’ll hear compositions by Pilzer and other band members, all arranged by Pilzer to showcase the individual talents of these outstanding musicians.
