Biography
Duret was both a collector and friend of the Impressionists, about whom he published a book in 1878, Les Peintres impressionnistes (revised in 1906 with a chapter devoted to Cezanne). Duret's collection of impressionist painting was sold at the Galerie Georges Petit on 19 March 1894.
