Biography

Great-granddaughter of the artist Jacques-Louis David, Mme. Bianchi was born Mathilde Jeanin. She was the daughter of Charles, Baron Jeanin and his wife Caroline Challaye. Jeanin was the son of Jean-Baptist, Baron Jeanin [1769-1830], an officer in Napoleon's army, and Pauline-Jeanne [b. 1786], one of the twin daughters of Jacques-Louis David. Mathilde married a merchant Marius Bianchi, and had three daughters, Caroline-Pauline-Thérèse [1870-1940], later Comtess Murat, Renée [1869-1948], later Vicomtesse Fleury, and Charlotte-Louise-Solange, later Mme le Marquis de Ludre et Frolois.
