Biography

Laure-Emilie Félicité was born on 26 October 1786, one of twin daughters of the painter, Jacques-Louis David [1748-1825], and his wife, Marguerite-Charlotte, née Pécoul, [1764-1826]. Laure-Emilie married Claude-Marie, Baron Meunier [1770-1846] on 27 March 1805. Claude had an illustrious military career in Napoleon's army. The couple had three children, Jules, Alfred, and Emilie. Both Laure-Emilie and her twin, Pauline-Jeanne, and their husbands were painted by Jacques-Louis David. Laure-Emilie died in 1863.
