Biography

Henry VIII was crowned on June 24, 1509. His infamous succession of marriages went as follows: (1) 11 June 1509, Katherine of Aragon [d. 6 January 1536]; (2) 28 May 1533, Anne Boleyn [d. 19 May 1536]; (3) 20 May 1536, Jane Seymour [d. 14 October 1537]; (4) 6 January 1539, Anne of Cleves [d. 17 July 1577]; (5) 8 August 1540, Catherine Howard [d. 13 Feb. 1542]; (6) 12 July 1543, Katherine [d. 5 Sep. 1548]. Henry VIII died at Whitehall and was buried at Windsor. He was succeeded by his only surviving son, Edward, who was crowned on February 25, 1546-7.
