The son of Major George Edward Capel Cure, Justice of the Peace, of Blake Hall, Essex, and his wife, Ione Catherine Victoria Paley, Nigel Capel Cure succeeded his aunt, Alice Newall Cure [d. 1937], widow of Francis Capel Cure [d. 1934], in the Badger Hall, Shropshire, estate. Nigel sold Badger Hall in 1943 and moved to another family estate, Blake Hall in Essex. In 1947 he was a Deputy Lieutenant and Justice of the Peace for Essex. Educated at Eton and Trinity College, Cambridge (B.A. 1930), he served in the Royal Army (Territorial Army) in 1938, and in WWII from 1938-45. On 22 October he married Nancy Elizabeth, daughter of the late William James Barry, Justice of the Peace, of Great Witchingham Hall, Norwich, and granddaughter of the 7th Earl of Dunmore. They had two sons--George Ronald and Michael--and a daugher, Sarah Virginia.
