Leopold Blumka ran the Blumka Gallery in New York, where it moved from Vienna in the late 1930s. The gallery specializes in Medieval, Renaissance and Baroque art. In 1942 Blumka married Ruth Zickel (c. 1920-1994), daughter of Nadja and Frederic Zickel, German Expressionist dealers in Munich. Ruth joined the Blumka gallery, which still operates on East 72nd Street in New York City under the directorship of Tony Blumka.
