Biography

Louise was the niece of Henry Chiapella [1849-c. 1908] and a descendant of the Yates/Pollock families of New York and New Orleans. Members of these families were subjects of the following portraits by Gilbert Stuart now in the NGA collection: Catherine Brass Yates (Mrs. Richard Yates (1940.1.4), Richard Yates (1942.8.29), Catherine Yates Pollock (Mrs. George Pollock) (1942.8.19), George Pollock (1942.8.18), and Lawrence Reid Yates (1940.1.5).
