Technical Summary
The unlined, plain-weave fabric support is tacked to the original butt-jointed stretcher. The white ground is thick and smooth. Subsequent paint layers generally are thick and opaque and seem to have been rapidly applied. The paint is thinner in the shadowed areas, where it was applied wet-into-wet. The uneven varnish is hazy and has become moderately discolored.
