About the Delbert Anderson Quartet

Allow the Delbert Anderson Quartet to move your soul through the music and inspiration of the Diné (Navajo people). Calling upon improvised sounds of the Diné circle, the group’s music resurfaces as jazz, funk, and hip-hop and harkens back to the social tornado of Diné Spinning Songs—songs composed to teach humanity. This music fuses the Navajo-improvised melodies of trumpeter Delbert Anderson, the funk and Latin groove rhythms from drummer Khalill Brown, the exploration of jams from bassist Evan Suiter, and the talents of keyboard player Robert Muller. As it reaches into the past, the Quartet performs stories for today and preserves its musical heritage for tomorrow.
