About Brent Birckhead

Discover why award‐winning saxophonist Brent Birckhead has been hailed by The New York Times as “one of the most riveting young improvisors in New York.”  Unbound by genre, Birckhead takes creative risks while deeply respecting the legacy of woodwind artistry. He is a Baltimore native and Howard University alumni who has performed and toured with legendary artists including Lauryn Hill, Nas, Wale, Eric Benet, Larry Graham, George Duke and many more. A saxophone professor at Morgan State University, Birckhead recently released his sophomore album "Cacao."
