Commemorate International Women’s Day with the world premiere performance of a new piano concerto by Grammy-nominated composer Clarice Assad. Ukrainian American pianist Inna Faliks is joined by the Inscape Chamber Orchestra and students from the DC Youth Orchestra and the Washington Musical Pathways Initiative. Also included on this program is Clara Schumann’s Piano Concerto in A minor, op. 7.
About Inna Faliks
“Adventurous and passionate” (The New Yorker), Ukrainian-born American pianist Inna Faliks has made a name for herself through her commanding performances of standard piano repertoire, genre-bending interdisciplinary projects, and inquisitive work with contemporary composers. After her acclaimed teenage debuts at the Gilmore Festival and with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, she has appeared on the world’s greatest stages in recital and with many major orchestras, performing with such conductors as Leonard Slatkin and Keith Lockhart. Her recent seasons include performances as soloist with US orchestras nationwide, repeated tours of all major venues in China, as well as at the Ravinia Festival in Chicago and the Chigiana Academy in Italy.
