Experience live performances as part of The Double: Identity and Difference in Art since 1900.

Josiah McElheny’s sculptures Walking Mirror I and Walking Mirror II (2012) exist as static objects in which viewers can see their reflections. For two occasions during The Double exhibition, dancers from Deviated Theatre will activate the artwork in the performance Two Walking Mirrors in the East Building atrium.

Wearing the sculptures, their vision obscured, the performers will follow a path established by the artist and indicated by lines drawn on the floor in response to Robert Morris’s Two Columns and I. M. Pei’s East Building design.

See how the performance explores the exhibition theme of the double.
