This is a painting depicting a figure in mourning beside a memorial. The figure is leaning against a tombstone with an urn atop, surrounded by weeping willows. The tombstone is inscribed with a message— "Died 24 Jan, 1805 Aged 18 Months Blessed Spirit Rest in Peace". The willow branches frame the scene, and the figure's long dress and lowered gaze express contemplation and grief. The landscape features greenery under a serene sky, contributing to the somber atmosphere.
