FOR CHILDREN AGES EIGHT TO TWELVE: Download the Discovery Guide to the exhibition Afghanistan: Hidden Treasures from the National Museum in Kabul. (PDF, 916 k) The Guide was first published by the Musée Guimet in French in 2006 under the title A la
recherche des trésors d’Afghanistan. The Afghanistan exhibition will be on view at the National Gallery through September 7, 2008.

Created in conjunction with the National Geographic Society, the Web programs show relevant archaeological sites, an illustrated timeline of ancient Afghan history, an audio slideshow, and reconstructions of lavish burial costumes adorned with gold.

Winslow Homer Inside Scoop (PDF, 200k)
The Winslow Homer exhibition closed on February 26, 2006, but many of Homer's paintings are on on view in the American galleries (West Building). The Homer Web feature has additional information about the artist, short video clips about his life, and a zoomable slide show.

Get the Inside Scoop on Andy Goldsworthy. In January 2003, The National Gallery of Art invited Andy Goldworthy to create a site-specific installation. Completed in February 2005, Roof runs the length of the garden area on the north side of the East Building. It will be on view indefinitely.
