Overview: 25 paintings were selected from the series created by Childe Hassam showing the flag-decorated streets of New York City during World War I, between 1916 and 1919. They were assembled by Ilene Susan Fort of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.

Organization: Deborah Chotner was exhibition coordinator at the National Gallery. Gaillard Ravenel and Mark Leithauser designed the exhibition and Gordon Anson designed the lighting for the National Gallery.

Sponsor: This was the second in the series of American impressionist exhibitions supported by Bell Atlantic.
