Remarks

A review of the 1934 exhibition stated, “Now and then Stieglitz experiments with double exposure, as in the ‘Dualities’ of 1932” (see Edward Alden Jewell, “Stieglitz in Retrospect,” The New York Times [16 December 1934], section 2, 9). Another review identifies Dualities as “a portrait made two years ago . . . [a] double exposure of a woman’s face” (see E. C. S., “Alfred Stieglitz’s Prints,” The Christian Science Monitor [22 December 1934], section 2, 10).
